DIY Sugar Body Scrub and Why We Should Exfoliate
What is exfoliation? Exfoliation is the act of removing dead skin cells from your skin skin.
Every 30 days your skin sheds, but it doesn't always shed completely leaving dry skin, flaky patches, clogged pores, uneven skin tones, affects collagen production (exfoliation can increase it).
So with regular exfoliation you can help alleviate the above conditions and have beautiful glowing skin. Here is a DIY recipe to make your own body scrub with the use of 3 simple ingredients that you would have around your house. If you do not have essential oil, no problem you can always swap it out for some raw honey.
Ingredients:
1 Cup Organic Sugar
½ Cup Organic Olive Oil
5-10 Drops Essential Oil of Your Choice*
*Please note if you are pregnant or breastfeeding there are certain Essential Oils that should not be used such as Rose. Please research the Oil prior to using in this case.
Make sure it is a pure grade essential oil.
Please be cautious if you choose citrus oils as they are photosensitive, meaning they will make you more sensitive to UV rays.
Directions:
In a large bowl mix together all the ingredients and store in a dry airtight container such as a Mason Jar.
This is meant to be used as a body scrub, do not use on your face or other sensitive areas as the grains of the sugar will be too rough for them.
